Protest Prints

I adore printmaking and its historical role in disseminating knowledge, its use as a decorative art, and its use as a medium for protest. I embrace all three of these aspects by using relief cuts to create allegorical scenes of American life. My prints have been a part of building awareness and funds for relief in Ukraine, Planned Parenthood and the Giffords organization.

I am a public school art teacher. I pulled the yellow background from a table I use everyday to demonstrate art techniques to elementary school children. I practice lockdown drills twice a year and my eyes prick with tears sitting in silence, helplessly, with children I am in charge of protecting. All sale proceeds go to the GiffordsPac.
